We need your help!!

Baylands started back in 2012 in a garage on Baylands Drive in Newlands, Wellington.  The first brew kit was just 300L in size, arriving in December 2012.  Our first brew in Mar 2013 was a collaboration with Funk Estate and since then we have been on a journey of growth and discovery. 

In 2014 we relocated to our home in Petone and upgraded to a 1200L brewing rig with a bunch of new tanks.  Soon after in 2016 we added more tanks to increase our capacity, then in 2020 we added a state of the art canning machine.

This year in 2021 we invested in a new brewery twice the previous size and added 4 new 2500L tanks to increase our capacity even further.

The one key thing we have been missing until now is our own Taproom where we can show off our beers and give our customers the opportunity to come and experience Baylands beers at the source. So, we have set out to put that right. 

We have secured the adjoining building with 400+sqm of space and we plan to use this for a new Taproom with a full Kitchen, a separate 50 person function room, offices and a much larger walk-in chiller.  The taproom has a great Northern outlook with outdoor seating and a capacity of around 200 people. We have already completed a bunch of work. The old building has been gutted and now has a new floor and roof.  We were planning to have the Taproom open in March/April 2022 all going to plan, but material and covid delays has pushed this back, now tracking to late October, possibly even November, it has just been truely horrible getting building materials.

Here is our challenge....and where you can help.  With covid set backs, increased building and fit out costs and some unexpected curveballs, we are going to need some help to complete the project to the standard we require.
